Why is it important to introduce multi-disciplinary learning? विविधतेचे शिक्षण .
Dr. Jitendra A Hole Pune
Multidisciplinary learning is essential for the holistic development of students. Students’ knowledge of other subjects along with the main subject should be an integral part of education.
Also learning certain subjects is essential for living a beautiful and safe life. Green planet Earth needs clean environment, clean water and education and research and its adoption to cope with future natural and man-made disasters. Specific conditions need to be improved by formulating an action plan by studying everything that is necessary for human beings to live safely. The required topics are as follows
1) Core subjects -
2) Interdisciplinary subjects
3) Multidisciplinary subjects
a) Disaster management- This knowledge is needed to cope with the present and future artificial and natural disasters . The country’s wealth can be protected by managing loss of life , financial loss and any kind of disaster.
The climate is changing. Sometimes high temperature, sometimes low temperature, every object has a kind of heat / temperature. If you study the element of fire, you will know the advantages and disadvantages of it.
Heavy rains often cause damage to crops or other sustainable crops. What is a storm? The wind element, if the wind element is studied systematically, can overcome the coming crises.
Earth element, all the solids / solids in these elements are called earth elements. If we study that earth principle, that solid particle, in a very subtle way, we can avoid many kinds of crises that befall human beings.
The next sky element, the cavity in the sky in the sky element. There is also in the atmosphere. If we study the planets, constellations, stars, sun, moon, comets, meteorites in the sky very meticulously, then future crises can be avoided and new sciences can be studied.
The fifth principle is hydrology, the study of hydrology is a very scientific study of the molecule in it and it can be used for the benefit of society, so the study of Panchmahabhutas is very essential. The need of the hour is to make the subject of Panchmahabhuta science compulsory in all schools and colleges. So that each student will study the subtle elements in the Panchatatva and their mixture with each other and then the consequences after the Pancha Mahabhuta comes together. My view is that just as there is mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, there should also be structures and syllabus by creating branches like sky engineering, aero engineering, hydro engineering, fire engineering and earth engineering. All kinds of knowledge, innovation in four years course , Research and Development, Product Base Education, Problem Base Education, Project Base Education, Pre-Incubation Center, Incubation Center, Start Up, Entrepreneur Cell, Innovative Cell, Copyright Cell, Online Education Methods, skills development as well as the participation of modern technology in the teaching method, the participation of the old Indian teaching method, such as a variety of innovative teaching methods if the overall development of students.
b) Basic of Medical science- Ayurveda is a wonderful gift given to the world by vedas’ . The study of ayurveda , naturopathy, Govidnyan , Yagna science etc. can safeguard the health of country by choosing itself and the society. A Sound Mind in a Sound body is a key of success.
c) Yoga science- Peoples have a huge load of work, stress, tensions, unhealthy life. Therefore, to keep the mind, body and intellect healthy Yog Science should become an integral part of daily life.
d) Indian Knowledge and it's science- The knowledge of Ancient india and its science is very useful to our society and it is very important to know the differ subjects of Indian knowledge so the following subjects are inculcate in IKS 1) Mathematics,2) Astronomy,3) philosophy,4)Yoga,5) Architecture,6) Medicine,7) Agricultural,8) Engineering,9) Linguistics,10) Literature,11) Sports,12)Games,13) Governance,14) Policy,15) Conservation,16) Traditional / Organic crop cultivation,17) Forest Management,18) Natural forming,19) Tribal ethnomethodological practices,20) Tribal knowledge and indigenous and traditional ways of learning
For systematic implementation of Indian Knowledge system for common peoples
1. IKS centered at Outcome Based Education:
2. Emphasize on Fundamentals and application of IKS
3. Experiential Learning of IKS
4. Promote Creativity and Innovation
5. Inculcating Ethics and Values
6. Blend of Curricular and Extracurricular Activities regarding IKS
7. Global Competence
8. Industry Induced Internship Program for IKS projects
9. Motivation for Self Learning
e) Sanskrit- Sanskrit is a mother of all languages. All the pronunciation of words/ sentences creates Pranayam. So it will help to maintain sound health. All ancient literatures are in Sanskrit so it is easy to understand the ancient knowledge and its science.
f) Finance and Economic- Finance and Economic literacy is very important for the betterment of life and growth.
g) Panchamahabhutas science – If we want to protect ourselves from future epidemics and other diseases, it is very important to get to the root of them. This means that everything in this world is made up of particles / molecules. If each of them has a different structure, then there is a great need to study those fine particles. There are five elements in the Panchmahabhutas, namely, water element, sky element, earth element, fire element, air element. If we study them very subtly and scientifically, we can be protected from many future ones.
In future there are possibilities of various unexpected incidence which can occurs at ant time or any moments. So there is need of systematic ans scitific study of Panchamahabhutas. The Panchamahabhutas are divided into five different tatvas given in the model and each tatvas are studies as a separate branch of engineering, to syudy it throughly and systematically so that it will help in reducing the impact of future unexpected incidences.
Following branches are the Panchmahabhutas branches.
1) Aakash Abhiyanta,2) Vayu Abhiyanta, 3) Agni Abhyanta ,4) Jal Abhiyanta ,5) Prithvi Abhyanta .
h) Vocational subject- Vocational subject is very important for skill development and create sound economy.
i) Ethics and value education- It is to value the society, environment and protect peoples from any adverse effect and inconvenience. peoples should apply his ethics to all the aspects of technological development and knowledge exchange awareness and present the role model to the society.
j) Applied agricultural education – Breadwinner is going through such huge problems, producing food through hard work., as conscious and grateful citizens, need to make efforts today to ensure successful implementation of various schemes such as solutions, awareness, crisis management and positive thinking, advice, government schemes, co-operative schemes, private development schemes, agricultural development schemes etc. so for understand and capturing the knowledge related to agriculture and its problem and self dependent farmer this type of education is compulsory.
k) Constitution of India. It is right of every Indian to study Constitution of India.
l) Applied sciences- implementation of science in technology.
m) Applied Arts- It improves the critical thinking power and design of learning , aesthetic and ergonomics concepts.
n) Applied commerce- its’ knowledge is helpful to study and analysis of financial, economic, business etc. and also helpful to resolving these crises.
o) Military Education- by Studying all the military machinery, vehicles, weapons, planning and development system, innovation and ideas can be helped.
p) Applied computer science and information technology- It is important to apply knowledge to core subject and maintain it to the latest technological reforms. Literacy of this subject is the real literacy of current education.
q) Environment science this science is useful to study and analysis of environment and its effects on atmosphere and understand the effects climatic change.
4) Extracurricular activities
5) Co-curricular activities
